Risk

Risk is one of the three pillars of value in TRM. A fuller write-up is still to come. Until then, here is what the rest of this section says about it.

• Score it. My teams measured each risk by impact and likelihood. That gave every risk a score we could compare with any other. See the Platform Engineering/IT case study.
• Measure it one way. In an analysis, express every risk value in the same unit of “risk impact”. See Create your first TRM analysis.
• It never reaches zero. The goal is to reduce risk as far as you can. It will never be eliminated, so show where you started, where you are and where you’re headed.
